In addition to Rector of Burch University, Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović, the head of the EU delegation, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark in the Rector’s Office at Burch University had the opportunity to speak to the academic staff of the university such as vice-rector Prof. Dr. Sanela Klarić, Dean of the Faculty of Education Assist. Prof. Senad Becirović and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Serkan Doğan, with whom H.E. Lars-Gunnar Wigemark exchanged views on the education sector in B&H, future student exchanges and the development of a better higher education in B&H. Burch University Rector, Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović, pointed out that the Erasmus+ program is extremely important and that it is B&H’s path to a quality higher education. Rector Marjanović said that the International Burch University will continue to work to improve conditions for study and research, both for students who come from Bosnia and Herzegovina and for all international students.
The welcoming speech event was opened by Assist. Prof. Senad Becirović, Dean of the Faculty of Education who organized today’s event on two lectures; „European integration and Europeanization of higher education in B&H“, and „Erasmus programme and the educational systems in EU“.
Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, Head of EU Delegation in B&H, and political advisor Olaf Deussen, at the International Burch University, gave a lecture to students with whom they had an opportunity to exchange views and opinions and receive more information on the work of the International Burch University, and on studying and learning at Burch university firsthand.
In addition, the Ambasador emphasized that International Burch University should prioritize development to create conditions for better cooperation with partner institutions in Europe and B&H.
Also, those projects which unite all universities in order to create better conditions for the development of higher education in B&H have shown the most success and the Competition Act in the work of students.
“Erasmus + program this year reaches 30 years of its existence, 20 years of existence in B&H. Student exchange program is crucial when it comes to higher education in general, both within the EU member states and within the states that support the Erasmus + program. The country Sweden, where I am from, is a member of the EU for 20 years and all EU members recognize the importance of membership and how it can contribute to all of us, “said the Ambassador, Head of EU Delegation in B&H, Lars Gunnar Wigemark, during his first but not the last visit to International Burch University.
