On Friday 17th of April, Burch Business Center has officially started at the International Burch University in Sarajevo. Burch Business Center aims to strengthen cooperation of Burch University with the business community, to create a platform for networking and co-operation of both domestic and international companies, as well as the contribution of entrepreneurship and economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the opening ceremony speeches were delivered by the Rector of the International Burch University, Prof Dr. Mehmet Uzunoglu, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Prof. dr. Teoman Duman, PR manager of the Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University Mr. Topalovic Damir and director and coordinator of the Center Mr. Čelebić Nedim.
According to Mr. Čelebić, Burch Business Center offers the possibility of organizing business training, presentations and a host of international corporations, organization of conferences and recruiting the best students for internships and employment. Also, twenty seminars are scheduled during this year in the field of leadership, management of finance and accounting, marketing and sales, human resources management and other professional fields.
The first workshop was attended by 45 managers of all levels of and leading international companies. Lecturer MA Suzana Tihi-Babic, through her knowledge and experience responded to the question “To be a manager or not.”
Ms. Tihi-Babic has been managing human resources of the ASA Group, being responsible for 20 members of the group and 520 employees. The seminar demanded active participation of the participants in form of discussions and exercises.
The next seminar will be held at 24th of April, 2015, starting at 9:30 am at The International Burch University on the theme “Building a brand in the Nestle way”. Lecture will be given by mr. Kukuljac Jasmin, Director of Nestle for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
