Last Saturday, students of Department of Architecture in International Burch University had the opportunity to participate in the program called Cultural Trails of Sarajevo. During several hours of touring through city of Sarajevo our students were introduced to the cultural heritage in the aspects of architecture. On this occasion students visited the City Hall, Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque, Old Orthodox Church and Museum, Brusa Bazaar, Catholic Cathedral, Svrzo’s House and the main Post Office. The program is organized in the cooperation of our University with young architect Boris Trapara who also led the students during this tour. By visiting religious heritage sites in Sarajevo, students could compare similarities and differences of sacred spaces, architectural styles, as well as the characteristics of each of these places of worship. Students also had the opportunity to learn more about secular architecture from Ottoman period of family houses, hans /inns/, and bazaars. One of the highlights of the tour was visit to the magnificent City Hall of Sarajevo.
