EMECS-Thon competition was first held in 2012 in Norway, and this year it is also being held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by student enthusiasts from Burch University, Ammar Talić and Slađana Veselinović. The official opening was held today at 10 am in the campus of Burch University in Ilidža, and it will last until 10th of May.
The participating teams are consisted of up to three students, and each team has the flexibility to choose the project on the topic of self-interest. The competition takes place in fully equipped laboratories of each of the participating universities, and after forty-eight-hour marathon is over, each team presents its work to the jury, and awards are given in three categories: ‘Best Technical Application’,’ Best Commercial Use ‘and
‘Choice od Audience’. The best project is being nominated for the winner of the entire competition and the most valuable prize “EMECS – Thon Gurus”.
The organization of the event is performed by EMECS students and alumni, with the support of the academic community EMECS with partner universities, private companies and local NGOs. Local organization for Bosnia and Herzegovina is done by members of the IBU Embedded Electronics System Design Club (www.facebook.com/IBUESD).
EMECS-Thon competition is open for public on Saturday, 09th of May at 10:00 at the campus Burch University, and all interested parties are invited to personally get informed about projects and get acquainted with the young enthusiasts.
