International Student Day 2015

The long awaited event finally was held today at BURCH University. It started with the arrival of ambassadors from 6 different countries for the opening ceremony. As announced, the motto of this event was sending a word of peace and truly all the participants sent it.
The opening ceremony started with the speech of Rector of BURCH University Prof. dr. Teoman Duman.  The rector stressed the importance of such gatherings in times where we see issues arise worldwide.  After the rector, the Head of the International Office Prof. dr. Azamat Akbarov stressed the importance of multiculturalism and what it means to world peace.

Students also had a chance to see from which countries their friends are coming from. To make the opening ceremony even better one student Nudžejma Kudić sang “We are the world” which is a song of peace and unity.

After the opening ceremony, the rector, ambassadors, and other esteemed attendees visited student stands. There were 22 stands from many different countries. All the attendees enjoyed food while learning more about the countries.

The event ended with all participants listening to traditional music. All listened to great music, met new people, and enjoyed in the atmosphere at the International Day.
