Within the activities of Working Pakage 1 Erasmus+ Capacity Building TACEESM project, first Local Workhsop on analysis of market needs and development of academic programs was organized by International Burch University. Valueble contribution was made by the representatives of our partner Universities from Bosnia, Dzemal Bijedic University from Mostar, and University of Bihac, as well as by the representatives of companies, architectural bureau Cube Design from Sarajevo and company KF Gradnja from Bihac.
Workshop was organized with an aim to present the results of the conducted analysis of market needs in the field of architecture and civil engineering, as well as discuss opportunities and challenges of the academia and the practice. Additionally, the participants initiated the discussion on the development of academic and professional competencies of architectural and civil engineering qualification profile.
The necessity for closer cooperation between the educational institutions and market was once again highlighted, stating the particular need for the improvement of employability skills of graduates. Suggestions were made about the possible models of systematic cooperation that would be beneficial for all participating parties, but also possibilities of creation of virtual circumstances – simulation of professional life environment within academic programs, aiming to upgrade the practical skills of students.
The results of this Local Workshop and activities conducted in the previous months will be presented on March 10th at the Workshop organized by Working Package 1 lead institution -Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, University of Maribor.
