Thanks to the “EU and You” project, the Office of the Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 17 students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday, 15 June to Friday 19 June 2015, visited and stayed in Brussels.
On behalf of BURCH University and the Department of International Relations and European Studies Kemal Nedzibovic and Edin Bajramovic were chosen for the working visit.
Students of the University of Mostar, University of Bihac, University of Banja Luka, University Dzemal Bijedic in Mostar, Sarajevo University, the University of Tuzla, Zenica University, University of East Sarajevo with the Medical Faculty of Foca, the University Centre in Bijeljina, the Faculty of Economics in Brcko and the International Burch University were the winners of the EU Debate competition held in Sarajevo on 03 and 04 June 2015.
Students had the opportunity to present their reflections and conclusions of the debate competition, which focused on the process of European integration and topics relating to the reform agenda and agreement for growth and employment, officials of the Directorate for Neighbourhood Policy and the negotiations on the enlargement of the European Commission, DG NEAR in Brussels.
In order to encourage students to continue to improve thereselves as debaters, there was a visit to the European Parliament and the European Commission. On the last day of the visit to Brussels, the students met with representatives of AEGEE, one of Europe’s largest interdisciplinary student non-profit organizations, whose mission is to empower students and young people in Europe to play an active role in society.
