Over the last year or so, we’ve seen the 360Hz gaming monitor come to fruition in a big way – providing esports gamers with a real competitive edge over their rivals. The latest in a long list of speedy panels is the ViewSonic XG251G – a 24.5″ 360Hz monitor that prioritizes speed over all else. At the time of writing this, the official release date and pricing of this gaming monitor aren’t known. However, sources suggest that a release date of Q3 2021 is expected.
As far as specs go, the XG251G offers a 24.5″ FHD IPS panel with great viewing angles, colors, and eye-care technology too. It will feature a 360Hz refresh rate, low 1ms response time (GTG), and full G-sync variable refresh rate support. The XG251G will also feature NVIDIA Reflex, the latest low latency platform which not only allows you to reduce the general latency of your monitor in certain titles, but also allows you to physically measure the input lag you’re receiving from mouse click to onscreen action – via the Reflex Latency Analyzer feature.
Looking at colors, users can expect a wide color gamut that covers 99% of the Adobe RGB spectrum. The XG251G will also come equipped with HDR support too, featuring VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Like other IPS panels, great viewing angles will also be a feature of this monitor, alongside a great eye-care package that helps reduce stress on the eye during extended gaming sessions. Inputs will include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and a number of USB ports as well. The stand versatility at this stage is unknown, however, based on early pictures, this may be quite limited.
So, you like the sounds of the monitor but you don’t know where to buy it? Well, at the time of writing this, the XG251G is still under lock and key. We’ll have to wait a little while longer before we can get our hands on this highly responsive panel – however, when we do, we will be conducting a full review like always.
